Job title:  RN, School Nurse

Years of service:  30 yrs. 5 yrs. as a substitute and 25yrs. at DHS

What will you miss most about DHS, and why:  I will miss my co-workers and all the other staff members I have worked with to help students over the many years.  I will also miss the students whose lives I hope a made a difference in and those who touched my life.

Advice to your replacement: wear comfortable shoes because you will hit the ground running every day, be prepared to never leave the office for a break, expect an interrupted lunch, have a sense of humor and love what you do!!

Favorite DHS memory: I was deeply touched when the peer leaders had a walk-a-thon  in 2007 and 2008 to raise money for research for a rare disorder, Dystonia, which afflicts my son.

Retirement plans: Spend more time with family, especially my baby granddaughter and friends, read mountains of books, travel to more of our beautiful National Parks and abroad, and pursue hobbies that I haven’t had much time for while working.  I promised to do some subbing too!

Any other thoughts: I heard a beautiful sentiment about 30 yrs. ago that became my mantra:  “Only one life that soon is past, only what’s done with love will last.”
