The Hatters’ Herald is distributed free to all members of the student body. It is a member of the Columbia Scholastic Press Association, the New England Scholastic Press Association and the Quill & Scroll Society.
Commentaries and opinion columns are the expressed opinions of the author and not of the Hatters’ Herald and its Board of Editors or its adviser. Furthermore, the opinions conveyed are not those of the Danbury Public Schools, faculty, or school board.
Letters to the editor policy: Letters must include the writer’s name, signature, and class or position. Typed, double-spaced letters are preferred, but legible, handwritten submissions are acceptable. Letters can be mailed, hand-delivered, or e-mailed.
The Hatters’ Herald will not print anything deemed libelous, obscene, or poor in taste in accordance with the Supreme Court’s justified standards. Rights are reserved to postpone, edit or withhold from publication anything submitted which does not meet the specifications. The meaning of any submission will not be altered, but we reserve the right to correct spelling, grammar and punctuation, and reduce wordiness when necessary.
Additionally, the Hatters’ Herald refuses to print criticism which is not constructive and supported by facts.
