Despite the season-ending abruptly, notable players helped the Hatters have a successful season. Stats and awards that were given to certain players will be provided below. Happy summer, everyone! The 2024 Hatters will come back stronger than ever.

 

Leading pitchers stats:

  1. Jacob Distcher, a senior pitcher, ended with a 1.89 ERA, five complete games, and a 5-2 record. The ace threw 70.1 innings with 70 strikeouts. Distcher is uncommitted and is unsure about his future in baseball.
  2. Charlie Solimine, a junior pitcher, finished with a 2.50 ERA and two complete games. He threw 46 innings with 50 strikeouts.
  3. In his first year pitching, Nick Callari, a senior OF/P, maintained a 4.26 ERA and helped the Hatters with two victories to his name. Callari was one of the most important role players on the team.

 

Leading Hitters:

  1. Luke Ciccone, a junior 1B/OF, led the team with a.358 batting average and one home run. Ciccone is an uncommitted junior who has a huge future ahead of him.
  2. Matt Wallin, senior LF, was second in batting average, batting.324. The senior’s key moment of the season was his walk-off vs. New Canaan.
  3. Anthony Hackert, the starting shortstop, batted.291 and was a great, reliable defensive guy. The senior will move on to Nichols College to continue his baseball career.

 

Awards:

  1. Jacob Distcher, All-FCIAC, All-State, selected for the senior All-Star game
  2. Luke Ciccone, 2nd Team All-FCIAC, selected for the junior All-Star game
  3. Charlie Solimine, 2nd Team All-FCIAC
  4. Matt Wallin, FCIAC Honorable Mention
  5. Brandon Davis, FCIAC Honorable Mention
  6. Anthony Hackert, FCIAC Honorable Mention
