Tony Hinchcliffe, an American comedian who hosts the live comedy podcast Tony Kill, made insensitive remarks at the Trump Rally in Madison Square Garden.  

Trump’s Rally at Madison Square Garden on October 27, 2024, was the most controversial rally ever. Trump’s rally made people question why these featured celebrities cared to persuade voters with offensive and crude commentary. Tony Hinchliffe’s controversial commentary about the Puerto Rican and Latino communities. 

Tony Hinchliffe seemed to exacerbate the issues Trump typically has faced in the past regarding his commentary about minorities. Both Hinchliffe and Hulk Hogan made inflammatory comments,  but Hinchliffee specifically blew up on the internet due to his “comedic” remarks which left thousands with their jaws on the floor. Tony Hinchliffe, was paid to “warm up” the crowd before Trump spoke.

Hinchliffe described  Puerto Rico as a “floating land of garbage” sparking fury not only in Democrats but Republicans as well. On top of this, Hinchliffe made several more jokes using racist stereotypes. Hinchcliffe also suggested that “Latinos loved making babies.”  Hinchliffe caused so much commotion, especially among Puerto Ricans, that artists such as Bad Bunny spoke up on social media. Makeup millions of votes nationwide.

The Puerto Ricans in the Caribbean may not be able to vote as PR is a U.S. territory, but the Puerto Ricans who are living in America can. There are about 5.9 million Puerto Ricans on the mainland who won’t forget those jokes about their beautiful land. This could be a turning point for the voters in this election.
