Rúben Amorim joins United from Sporting Clube de Portugal, a club giant in the Portuguese league, where he used his managerial skills to win the 2020/2021 and 2023/2024 league titles, which captured the attention of many European Giants.
Rúben Amorim is a former soccer player who spent most of his career at Benfica. After a short managerial stint at the soccer club Braga, Amorim took over as the Head Coach of Sporting CP men’s first team in 2020. With him taking charge, he helped lead Sporting CP to their first league title in 19 years, a major deficit for the club. He brought positive change to the club and changed the style of play by implementing a 3-4-3 formation. This formation and tactics have led to major success in the Portuguese League; many believe he could implement these tactics and the 3-4-3 formation into Manchester United.
