Jurassic World Rebirth is set to release on July 2nd, 2025 as the 7th movie in the Jurassic Park franchise, leaving many fans itching in anticipation
Steven Spielberg’s incredible Jurassic Park brought the world of dinosaurs to life in theatres and captivated audiences worldwide. 32 years later, this franchise has transformed into the dominant movie franchise we know today. Jurassic World Rebirth plans on taking the series up a notch, with a more in-depth plot and better cinematography. Hopefully, this installment will bounce back from the lackluster reviews the previous film received by critics.
Jurassic World Rebirth will take place about 5 years after the previous film. It will follow a team of experts exploring an island to study dinosaurs in order to make a groundbreaking medical discovery. Zora Bennett, the lead expert in the expedition, will primarily lead this task. They will encounter multiple beloved dinosaur species that will be brought back in the movie, including a Mosasaurus. This has led to speculation of a significant portion of the movie being filmed in, under, or around water with it playing a crucial role in the plot. So besides those with aquaphobia, the movie is not announced to be scary, and may just include a few jump scares at best.
The entire franchise has been action-oriented, and that will not change in this adaptation. So it should be suitable for children to watch. Additionally, while no official rating has been released yet, it is widely suspected to be PG-13, once again allowing for a safe viewing experience for adolescents while still bringing an enjoyable experience for adult fans.
However, diehard Jurassic World fans may be disappointed in hearing the film’s cast. Chris Pratt will not be in the movie, unlike the past 3 films. Instead, he will be replaced by a new lead, played by Scarlett Johansson. Don’t let the lack of Chris Pratt steer you away though! Johansson has admitted to trying to get into the franchise for over a decade, so now that she’s finally here, fans are in for a stellar performance built on dreams. Additionally, ‘Satellite’ award-winning actor Jonothan Bailey will feature in the film too, adding to the cast of excellent acting.
Despite the replacement of Chris Pratt being switched by an equally prestigious actress, many people still have a sour taste on their tongues. Though the movie is set to be a reboot, introducing completely new characters like the industry standard, some fans still want an appearance from him. Many of them claim he has had stellar performances in previous films and played a beloved character. One online user, known as “Full-Thought7642” on Reddit made it clear that they “love Chris Pratt so if he isn’t in it [they] will be annoyed”. They speak for the voices of many, who loved the inclusion of Chris and his character throughout the film series
Nevertheless, if you love dinosaurs, action, and great filmmaking, this predicted blockbuster hit is the movie for you! You can watch it in theatres starting on July 2nd, 2025 across the U.S. or wait an estimated 2 months after the theatrical release until it comes out on streaming.
