A new club at DHS is arising to support students who have a passion for leadership and education: the educators rising club.

This club is designed for students who want to one day step into a classroom of their own and become the next generation of future teachers. The club offers a space for students to grow, learn, gain experience, and meet new people who share the same future goals.
The club is not just a part of Danbury High school, but is a whole organization that spreads through all around the country. President of the club Sarah Lippman shares insight into the organization stating, “The club is a national organization that runs through multiple different schools around the country… [there is] a base organization where they run all of the operations, there is a president of the entire thing.” This educators rising club is in many different schools that are helping fuel the dreams of future educators.
Beyond just preparing for their future, this club also prepares students in a variety of different aspects like classroom management, mentorship programs, and volunteer opportunities. Lippman shares one of the big things they recently worked on: “We were able to go to the Educators Rising National Conference at Central Connecticut State University, where we got to experience a lot of different viewpoints from other educators.” Students are able to network and meet other educators within the club- it’s a great way to get your foot in the door and learn a bit more about the teaching lifestyle.
Each member supports one another with their milestones and the club is always looking for new people to join. Even if it’s not fully what you choose to do in your future, Lippman encourages people to “Try it out,” and is always taking new members all year-round.
