The ESL Department for the first time will hold what’s to become an annual event on Wednesday — the ESL Academic Achievement Awards Ceremony.
It is set for 2:30 to 3:30 in the auditorium.
To be recognized, ESL students must be enrolled in the Newcomers, ESL 1, 2, 3 or Transitional English class and must have earned a GPA of at least 3.0 by the end of quarter 1, 2 or 3 of the current academic year.
This year, 98 ESL students meet these criteria. The ceremony is open to the DHS community. Light refreshments will be served after the ceremony.
