Dr. Diana Galletta-Bruno
Job title: School Psychologist
Years of service: 42.5 years in Danbury, 43 years in total, as I worked in New Haven prior to coming to Danbury
What will you miss most about DHS, and why: I will miss my colleagues and the students. I love working with the students here at DHS. They are so kind, respectful, and appreciative of everything you do for them, whether it is advising, helping them achieve a goal, gathering information for them, teaching, mediating situations, or just being there to listen. I will miss the interactions I have had with the students and teachers.
Advice to your replacement: Be present! Be a good listener! Make every student you come in contact with feel important and valued! Stay updated in best practices! This is not a job, it is a career that impacts lives and then rewards you with their successes.
Favorite DHS memory: There are too many!! However, working with the BOG students to win $125, 000.00 in prize money in the “Celebrate My Drive” contest for DHS, is definitely at the top of the list!!
Retirement plans: My immediate plans are to buy a beach house, learn to relax a little, read a book for enjoyment and do what ever I want. I have worked my whole life, starting from being a camp counselor as a teen. I worked, I studied in schools getting many different degrees throughout my career, along with raising my two beautiful daughters with my great husband. So learning to relax is a true statement!
Any other thoughts: Finally, I want to thank the Danbury School System for allowing me the privilege and pleasure to work with so many talented professionals, students and parents! I will truly miss everyone!!
