Mihir Sood, Editor-in-Chief
My name is Mihir Sood and I am a senior and the Editor-in-Chief of the Hatters’ Herald for the 2015-16 school year. I have been a student here since my sophomore year and have written for the Hatters’ Herald ever since. Initially, I joined the Journalism I class during my sophomore year only because there weren’t any other electives open. After a week or two into the class I began to gain an unanticipated interest in writing stories, being up-to-date with news going on throughout the school, and hearing the distinct voices and opinions of the students. Aside from the newspaper, I am involved in DHS through various clubs. I am a member of FBLA, NHS, NBHS, and a few others.
As Editor-in-Chief for this year, I plan to keep DHS as updated as possible through our new digital platform. This is our first year publishing online, but we are also planning to publish a few issues the old-fashioned way — ink and paper. We’re excited, though, in launching the digital platform. It’s 2015, and it’s time for us to join 21st century publishing and offer our readers a more timely product. Overall, I plan on promoting the Journalism Club to attract as many students and prospective journalists as possible in hopes to keep the journalism program and the Hatters’ Herald viable and running.
