‘Hello,’ Adele is back and shattering records

In 2011 we listened along to the astonishing 21, where Adele sung about ex-lovers, transforming her heartbreak into power. After the prolonged wait for Adele’s new album, 25 has all sounds of nostalgia and remorse.

According to Billboard, “Adele’s 25 made music sales history … and instantly became the year’s top selling album in the U.S. in just one week.”

The first single, “Hello,” has gotten intense radio play.

The album gratifies listeners with the best of both worlds; wistful piano ballads such as “Can’t Let Go” and “Remedy” yet also optimistic upbeat pop tracks such as, “Sweetest Devotion” and “Send My Love (To Your New Lover).”

For the past three albums she has been able to connect to her listeners through her soulful voice and lyrics. In November, Adele told the New York Times, “It sounds really cheesy, but if my music can comfort anyone and make them feel like, ‘I’m not the only one, someone else feels how I feel,’ then that’s my job done.”

The  stories told in her songs are so powerful they enable listeners to feel nostalgic of a love that perhaps never even existed.

Her words are sung from a broken heart, but provide a sweet comfort within. In a gut-wrenching way, Adele is able to destroy you with her music, but somehow piece you back together.
