CT Primary Day in the LMC

Michelle Passarelli, social studies teacher, talks with students waiting on line to “vote” in the Connecticut Primary for president. Democratic candidate Bernie Sanders took DHS, but Hillary Clinton won the real Democrat Primary while Donald Trump won the GOP.

Civics classes went to the media center as voting booths were set up and students voted for presidential candidates as well as ranked a number of issues in terms of importance to them.

Ariana Gonzalez, 16, voted for Bernie Sanders for the 2016 elections. Gonzalez explains, "...I think he has a better plan for our country than other candidates."
