How you can Give Back to the Community this Winter Season

Sophia Tharas, Journalist

You won’t ever regret volunteering your time to assist a cause you are passionate about. Volunteering and giving back to the community improves your overall quality of life, as well as familiarizing yourself with your community. Giving your time to make a difference also introduces you to individuals who will have a positive impact on not only your life, but so many others. Understanding your community allows for self-growth and develops your understanding on how you fit into society. So, immerse yourself into your community, surround yourself with people who want to better the world and themselves. You won’t regret it. Today in our community there are endless volunteering opportunities, even at Danbury High. Four students are deciding to make a positive impact on our community (Nicholas Cardenas, Letesha Moura, Lillian St. Jean and Jonas Rosario) . Here’s how you can help and be a part of the impact; from January 16th through the 23rd Winter clothing necessities are being collected, such as Winter coats, layering jackets as well as hats, gloves and scarfs. Donation boxes will be supplied throughout the school where one can drop off any clothes they decide to donate, anything helps! These four students are teaming with Dorothy Day, an organization dedicated to helping the less fortunate right here in Danbury. There are so many important causes out there that always need volunteers to support the work they are doing, you can always find a valuable way to donate your time. So start here, today!
