The Danbury Hatter’s perfect season continues after defeating their FCIAC rival, the Staples Wreckers (who were also undefeated) by a score of 63-54 on Tuesday, 1/17.

Danbury (9-0) is now the only undefeated team in the FCIAC and just one of the two undefeated boys teams in the state; Windsor Locks (7-0) is the other undefeated team in Connecticut. The Danbury Hatters are now ranked 5th in the GameTimeCT Top 10 Poll.

The Danbury Hatters were led to victory in this thrilling rivalry by 6-foot-5 senior power forward Christian Jeffers, who scored the game-high 20 points for Danbury. Senior guard Cushi Perkins also led the scoring for Danbury with 16 points, 11 of which were scored in the fourth quarter. The Hatters as a team scored 27 points in the fourth quarter to bring the team to victory.

A notable player that played the largest role in the Hatter’s victory was Senior center, Quinten Chapman, who only scored 8 points, but those 8 points were what turned the game around for Danbury. Chapman scored 6 points in the fourth quarter that helped the Hatter’s comeback. He also blocked 2 shots on the defensive side of the ball

There are now six other teams in the FCIAC with two or fewer losses.

Come support the Hatters as they take on Brien McMahon on Friday, January 20th.
