The Danbury Hatters are advancing to the FCIAC Championship to face off against the Staples Wreckers.

The No. 3 seed Danbury Hatters defeated the Trumbull Eagles by a score of 52-50 on Wednesday (3/1). The Hatter’s season will continue as they face off against the Staples Wreckers at Wilton High School on Friday (3/3). The No. 4 Staples Wreckers defeated the No. 1 Ridgefield Tigers 71-54, which helped the Wreckers advance to the championship.

The Hatters entered the 4th quarter vs. Trumbull trailing by four points, but the Hatters’ defense held the Eagles to 10 points. Christian Jeffers (SR) and Nez Perkins (JR) are two-star guards for the Hatters. They put up a combined 36 points, with Jeffers scoring 19 and Perkins scoring 17.

The last time the Hatters made an FCIAC finals appearance, they lost to the Ridgefield Tigers in 2019. Coach Bock and the Hatters are looking to bring home a banner to Danbury.
