The Danbury Hatters came out victorious and reached their 10-win mark yesterday (5/8) with a 4-0 win over the Greenwich Cardinals. This win, being vital for the Hatters, put the boys in a great position for the upcoming FCIAC and CIAC playoff tournaments, which kick off next week.

The Hatters, winning their fourth straight, threw star pitcher Jacob Distcher, who went seven innings strong in a complete game shutout, striking out nine and only allowing three hits. The ace pitcher posted a 1.81 ERA with a 3-1 record — a quality season for the senior

Besides the strong pitching performance, the bats came to life for the Hatters; senior shortstop Anthony Hackert and sophomore Brian Guerrero both collected three hits apiece. Senior outfielder Nick Callari also let it fly with a huge double off the fence, which started the Hatters’ hot streak.

The Hatters are now 10-6, holding second place in the FCIAC. After a slow start for the Hatters, you can definitely see the team coming together. They look to play Bridgeport Central tomorrow; the first pitch is at 4:45.

The remaining schedule for the Hatters:

Bridgeport Central (HOME) @4:45

Westhill (HOME) @11:00 am

Fairfield Ludlowe (HOME)  @4:00

Ridgefield (AWAY) @4:30
