DECA Title Winners

On March 1, the members of DECA at Danbury High School participated in the annually held states competition in hopes of securing a spot at nationals. Six teams qualified for nationals:

  • Ndeyanta Jallow, Mary Zanine, Danielle Reisert – 1st place, Creative Marketing
  • Taylor Lemme, Sophia Pompilio – 1st place, Public Relations
  • Michael Marques, Amannda Andrade, Ian Shannon – 1st place, Buying and Merchandising
  • Stasia Timan, Lindsay Begler – 2nd place, Financial Literacy
  • Chris Roscia, Matthew Beaver, Greg Capozzi – 2nd place, Finance Operations
  • Kaitlyn Heady, Julia Reisert, Kaitlin Parille – 3rd place, Business Operations

This year, nationals will be held in Nashville, Tenn., from April 23-26. The DHS chapter has created a gofundme account in seeking donations to defray expenses.
