Boys & Girls Outdoor Track AWAY @ the FCIAC Championships in Bethel – 12:00 – buses leave at 9:45

• Varsity cheerleading tryouts will take place today May 20th in the Old Gym from 3-5. Please see Mrs. Tatarzycki in E297 for more information.

• The GSA Bright Light Dance will be held this evening from 6:00- 10:00pm at DHS. For tickets and information please stop by Ms. D’Auria’s room D277. Pre-sale tickets are $10.00, at the door they are $15.00.

• Please join us for the Choral Celebration Concert on Monday, May 23rd at 7:00 PM in the auditorium. Come enjoy performances by the Pop Choir, Madrigal Singers, Concert Choir, Mad Men, and Mass Choir.

• Tickets for The Variety Show will be on sale today in the cafeteria during lunch periods. Tickets are $5 in advance & $7 at the door.

• There will be an On-Site Interview Day for Naugatuck Valley Community College on Thursday, May 26th. Come to the Career Center – get an application and to sign up.

• For the 9th annual faculty/student chess tournament, the students took an early lead and never looked back. The students were victorious over the faculty winning 19 games to the faculty’s 14. The student MVP is up-and-coming underclassman David Calle who went undefeated winning 5 games for the students. Well done David! Thank you to all who participated.

• The Air Force Junior ROTC cadets and the DHS Band invite all DHS students and staff to attend a brief flag-raising, a Reveille Ceremony, at the school flag pole at 7:10 AM Wednesday morning to commemorate Memorial Day. This special day is for remembering all those who died while serving their country in the United States military.

• Underclassmen will have the opportunity to pick up a previously ordered yearbook starting on Monday. We will only be distributing the yearbooks before or after school from the yearbook office, C330. Please come prepared with your school ID to pick up your yearbook before or after school. We will stop distributing at 7:15 AM.

• Attention Seniors: Are you ready to end your DHS career with Fun and Thrills? Buy your ticket for the Senior Class trip to Six Flags Great Adventure in the Cafeteria next week, Monday – Wednesday during all lunch periods. Price per ticket will be announced Monday. Come enjoy a day at the park and party into the night at Six Flags Senior Nite.

• Hear ye, Hear ye, the yearbooks have arrived. Seniors will have the opportunity to collect their yearbooks from their English 4 teachers. If there are any seniors who have ordered a book but are not currently enrolled in English 4 or AP Language, please feel free to pick up your books after school today. Please do not bother your English teacher until you are in your assigned period.

• Any student who still has an elevator key should return it to the Nurses’ office.

• The Young Republicans will meet after school in D268 tomorrow. All members are required to attend.

• There will be a mandatory football meeting on Wednesday, May 18th in A204. The meeting will start at 2:15 sharp. Please do not be late. Attendance will be taken.

• On behalf of the Danbury High School PTO, we would like to thank all of you who participated in the Buick Test Drive fundraising event this past Saturday. It was a great success! There were over 250 people who took free test drives. The event brought in over $5,000. The money will be used to enhance the educational experience of Danbury High school students. We thank you again for having your family and friends support DHS and the PTO,

• Congrats to the following winners of the Danbury Cultural Commission Poetry contest: Anna Strosser, Brandon Millen, Haley Grant, and Jennifer Lopez.

• Congratulations to the Girls Track and Field team for completing an undefeated season and winning the western division title. Thanks for the great team atmosphere promoted by every girl on the team this year.

• The Boys Track and Field Team captured the FCIAC Western Division Championship with a win over Ridgefield yesterday their final regular season record is 9 wins 0 losses. The team was lead by many great performances including Jonathan Bartley winning the 100m.

• Tickets for the Senior Prom, which will be held at the Amber Room on May 27th, are now on sale in the cafeteria for $80.00 each. Before you can buy a ticket, you must have all dues, fees, and fines paid. Dues can be paid in the cafeteria. Today is the LAST day to buy tickets to the Senior Prom.

• The Gridiron Club Scholarship is due to the Career Center today.

• Varsity cheerleading tryouts will take place starting today through Friday May 20th in the Old Gym from 3-5. Please see Mrs. Tatarzycki in E297 for more information.

• All girls grades 9, 10 and 11 who are interested in playing Ice Hockey – please attend a meeting today at 2:15 in E295.

• Any student participating in The Variety Show should see Mr. Watkins in the Level One office to pick up tickets. Tickets for The Variety Show will be on sale Tues.- Fri. in the Cafeteria during lunch periods. Tickets are $5 in advance & $7 at the door.

• Congratulations to the Girls Track & Field Team for their performances at the Loucks games this past weekend. The 4×100 relay team ran 49.06 and finished in 8th place. Leah Sarkisian ran 2:15.88 in the 800, Caylea Landrie jumped 3 feet 11 inches in the triple jump and Bridget Chiaravalle ran 14.66 in the 100 hurdles good enough for forth place.

• The Boys Outdoor Track and Field Team’s 4×400 team of Jonathan Bartley, Leo Abreu, Jake Roberts and Terrell Cunningham tied the school record and placed 5th at the Loucks Games.
