Sherly Chamorro, Staff Writer

What are your favorite winter festivities? These are my top 10 favorite winter activities.

  1. Snowboarding

Starting our list up with snowboarding. I’ve never done this activity before but  I’ve done my research and it’s definitely something I wanna try. It seems so fun, the way that they glide through the snow; Sign me up!

     9. Sledding

This activity is enjoyable, fun, and entertaining. This is a great activity for all types of people of different ages. I can just think about me as a kid gliding through the snow, feeling the cool air blowing in my face.

      8. Building an igloo

We all thought that we were builders when we started to build igloos. Building these was such a challenge but yet some of us made it work and others gave up( i was the person that gave up). This is a great way to get your kids thinking about how they’re gonna make the ice stick.

       7. Ice skating

Ice skating is fun!. If you haven’t tried it I recommend it. Well, it’s kinda tricky for beginners but once you get the hang of it, it starts to become more fun. Lots of people start when they’re young, like 4 or 5, if you like it then think about all the sports you can play like figure skating and ice hockey.

       6. See the nutcracker ballet

The Nutcracker ballet is such a beautiful performance. My favorite part of the play was when the dancer performed the sugar plum ballet dance. I like the way she jumps and lands gracefully on her feet, the way she does her magnificent spins, and the soundtrack!! It’s just perfect and beautiful.

       5. Making a snowman

This is a great way to let your kids have an imagination; nowadays kids are so creative they use veggies, fruits, clothes, and many other things to create a friendly snowman.

  1. Snow angels

Make sure you have your snowsuit cause this holiday we are for sure making snow angles. Letting your little ones lie down and make snow angels in the fluffy snow is just entertaining to watch. Plus they can decorate them to make them even more interesting; you can decorate using food coloring to make a face and old clothes to dress them up.

   3. Holiday treats

I love baking over the holidays, I love the warm feeling I get when I have a treat in my hand, sipping hot cocoa with my loved one. Baking treats are a must during the holidays. You can bake things such as cookies, brownies, gingerbread cookies, and roast marshmallows.

  2. Snowball fighting

Snowball fighting is a great way to release some steam and overall have fun. There are fun and creative ways to come up with how to throw that snowballs; for example, some people will go the extra mile and create some sort of machinery to throw the snowballs. Also looking at people who are snow-fighting is very entertaining and funny.

   1. Rockefeller center

Finally, we’ve made it to my favorite winter festivity, going to the Rockefeller center. There are many things to do there during the holidays; for example, you can see the famous Christmas tree, it is decorated with beautiful ornaments and lights. Another thing you can do at Rockefeller center is that you can ice skate there, many couples, families, and friends go there to have a good time. So next time you are in New York during the holidays make sure to stop by the Rockefeller center. It’s worth it!
