After the success of the first film, Venom left fans excited to see what they had in store for the next installment in the series. Although the character of Cletus Kasady (Woody Harrelson), aka Carnage, was a character that was expected to appear in the first film as the main antagonist, fans will be happy to know that he’s the main antagonist of this movie. Fans of Carnage will also be happy to know that Woody Harrelson takes up a lot of the screen time in the film.

Audiences will find that this movie is not a stereotypical superhero movie. The movie at times can feel like a romantic comedy. The chemistry between Eddie Brock(Tom Hardy) and Venom(Tom Hardy) feels as if they are two college roommates or a couple that struggles to share a place. Most of the scenes with Eddie and Venom are usually about both of them struggling to live together with each other. However, if you aren’t a fan of the chemistry between Eddie and Venom and you’d rather see some action, the movie switches between Venom and Eddie to Cletus Kasady and his origin into becoming Carnage. Comic book fans don’t need to worry about the PG-13 rating when it comes to Carnage; Carnage is as disturbing as he possibly can be considering the movie was rated PG-13. Carnage is an important character throughout the film, so much so that the movie opens up with some background information about his character and explains his origin to the audience right from the get-go. “I enjoyed seeing Carnage a lot and I thought his origin was very interesting”  Katelyn Dimino, who was the person who I saw the movie with. There are only a few scenes with Carnage that fans of the comic books may find unusual considering they are things that Carnage never did in the comics. “I surprisingly loved the movie, there were a few bits that were kinda weird, like when they decided that Carnage can create a tornado, like when was that in the comics? But overall I enjoyed the movie a lot and that’s saying something considering I am a big comic book reader and I am a very picky person when it comes to comic book movies” Jose, a co-worker of mine.

The post-credits scene of the movie will share some hype with the new Spider-Man movie coming out in December. Audiences have been waiting for Spider-Man’s appearance in the Venom franchise as Venom is one of the most popular Spider-Man villains. Without Spider-Man there wouldn’t be Venom, so it is expected that some people disliked the first movie because Spider-Man wasn’t present throughout. Surprisingly, considering Sony wanted to keep Venom in their universe and not connect it to Disney’s MCU, it appears that we are going to see Venom in the MCU after watching the post-credits scene where Eddie and Venom are transported to what seems like another universe. The rest of this scene shows Eddie and Venom watching TV in a hotel room as the news of Spider-Man’s identity being revealed appears on the screen. People who have seen Spider-Man Far From Home already know that at the end of the movie, Spider-Man’s identity is revealed to the rest of the world. So it appears that Venom showed up just in time to see Tom Holland’s Spider-Man being revealed. This will leave audiences wondering if Venom will appear in the new Spider-Man movie Spider-Man: No Way Home. Considering audiences are expecting Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man and Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Man to return, it wouldn’t be surprising if Tom Hardy’s Venom appears as a villain in the upcoming movie. Hopefully, we will get to see Tom Hardy sharing the screen with Tom Holland as well as Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire if they end up returning as Spider-Man.
